Due to his more average appearance and understated personality compared to some of the other Huanzi cats, his appearances on camera were often overlooked. However, he came to prominence on October 30, 2024, after he got on a swing seen out of Huanzi 2's back camera and proceeded to just sit on it, staring off into the distance, rather than swinging or playing. His wistful expression during this appearance, as well as his pondering session in front of the empty bowl at Huanzi 1 the next day, inspired the name of Mr. Ponder.
