Hello, I'm Kayoko!

I like to think it's a Chinese tradition to have at least two different aliases, so here's mine:

  1. Magpierre Canarie - as an artist
  2. ➽───隐君子───❥ - on the Hello Street Cat APP

I'm Malaysian Chinese, currently studying for a diploma in Digital Media. I grew up speaking Chinese predominantly (still do!) and have a fascination with the Chinese language itself, though, it's definitely not as much as my fixation on learning English. For most of my free time (when I'm not busy with multiple assignments at once, that is), I enjoy translating as a hobby. It's been that way for around six to seven years now and I'm relatively proud of my translation skills, even if they sometimes fail me when I'm reading too quickly.

In terms of what I prefer to do for the Street Cat wiki, I usually help translate small tidbits here and there, occasionally digging through the APP for more information if anyone asks. I'm also an avid fan of the Ten Thousand Kitties House (万猫屋) feeder, borderlining on being brainrotted really. The cat articles linked to TTKH are mostly written and edited by me, even the 20-page long translations document is also done by yours truly. When you check the official Street Cat wiki discord, you'll also notice that at least half of the 2000 combined messages in both TTKH threads were posted by me. Frankly, if there was something that signified I should take an autism assessment test, it would be this.

Fun Facts

  • My name on the Chinese APP is a homophone of my actual Chinese name and the word for "Drug Addict", the meaning of it is something along the lines of "Secluded Gentleman".
  • I used to have an addiction to grinding Cookie Run Ovenbreak's Trophy Races, the highest I've gotten was Master 3. I still play the game nowadays, just that I'm not as consumed by it as before.
  • I enjoy imagining that the cats in the TTKH feeder are living in a historical-esque scenario, with Mrs. Dress being the queen of her castle and the TuxEdo family being her chamberlains.

To-Do List

  1. Complete the pages for Brother Styles, Mr. Heartthrob, Mr. Heartbreak and the newcomer.
  2. Rewrite the page for Mr. Slam (done! currently doing Mrs. Dress'), add a more high-resolution photo for Mr. Edo.
  3. Complete the sightings in April for all kitties in the TTKH feeder.
  4. Expand upon the TTKH feeder page, particularly by adding a "Cat Differentiation" section for hard to determine cats.
