His name comes from a radical<ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_character_radicals</ref>, a component of Chinese characters, that translates in English to "Radical Man<ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radical_9</ref>". The radical,  人 (spelled "rén" in Pinyin), looks like the white streaks that appear on Radical Man's face. Radical Man was first sighted by the global community on July 14, 2024.

Despite his name, Radical Man is a very relaxed cat. He can often be seen lounging in or near the feeder for long periods of time. When he lays in the feeder, he often takes up most of the space in the feeder, requiring cats who want to eat to stand on the side of the feeder and reach up to the bowl from there. Radical Man can relax in the feeder for a very long time. When he wants food, but there isn't any, he is very patient and will wait for a long while before giving up on the prospect of food. Radical Man has not been seen having problems with any other cats at the feeder,
