Mr. Despair is a cat seen at QQ Hungry (QQ饿). Mr. Despair became viral online after a video surfaced of him eating very sadly. It turns out, this is just what he looks like. His feeder was unknown for a long time, until it was discovered on August 1, 2024, however, he wasn't seen at the feeder until October 8, 2024. He could originally be found at "QQ的猫猫之家", but this feeder has been brought offline, seemingly to replace it with his current feeder.

Behavior
For a long time, Mr. Despair's personality was unknown, similar to his feeder. It turns out that he is a rather chill cat, and will lie down/loaf at the feeder, possibly wallowing in his sadness. He is always seen visiting alone; although, this may be because of the quiet nature of the cat house.
Appearance
Mr. Despair is easily identifiable by his crumpled-looking ears, wide cheeks, weepy eyes, and forlorn expression. The shape of his ears is similar to those of cats affected by frostbite or scarring. He has orange fur with light stripes across his body. His tail is white-tipped.
Sightings
Mr. Despair was seen as far back as October 18, 2023. A series of images were uploaded to the Chinese website Baidu[1], showing Mr. Despair's appearance at the feeder.
September 2024
- September 29, 2024: At 2:59 PM (LFT), Mr. Despair was sprawled on the feeder floor when food was dispensed. He took a second to watch it fall, before getting up to eat it.
- September 30, 2024: At 1:41 PM (LFT), Mr. Despair loafed in his feeder. When food was dispensed, he quickly got up to eat.
October 2024
- October 2, 2024: At 9:52 AM (LFT), Mr. Despair had fallen asleep in the feeder. He got up to eat when food was dispensed, despite there already being food in the bowl.
- October 3, 2024: At 12:09 PM (LFT), Mr. Despair got up from his place lying on the feeder floor to eat some freshly dispensed food.
- October 5, 2024:
- At 12:21 PM (LFT), Mr. Despair was sound asleep in the feeder.
- At 2:12 PM (LFT), Mr. Despair loafed while watching his surroundings sleepily. Later, at 2:38 PM, Mr. Despair had fallen asleep in the same position. He was woken up by kibble falling, which he got up to eat. He had eaten a majority of the kibble when more was given a few minutes later, which he also ate.
