Macaroni and Cheese Soup (mac for short) is a fellow soupster at Soaring Cat/Soup Club.

Behavior

Like the other cats at the Soaring Cat he also takes a peek ever so often to the side of the feeder. Despite this he seems to be very chill, he rests at the feeder and can also be seen walking around on back camera.

Appearance

He can be confused with French Onion Soup and Goulash; Mac is mainly orange with white markings on his face, legs and around his neck. He is very fluffy and kind of chubby.

Sightings

April 2024

  • April 14, 2024: At 05:00 AM (LFT), Mac was first sighted. He was just laying in the feeder, sleeping, then walked around, and continued eating. At 05:45 AM (LFT), Mac walked up to the feeder and sat while looking to the side. He then did his famous FAST run.
  • April 15, 2024: At 06:40 PM (LFT), Mac ate a bit and then started to sprint around very quickly.

About The Soup

  • Macaroni soup is soup that includes macaroni. The food is a traditional dish in Italy, and is sometimes served with beans, which is known as pasta e fagioli, and was also included in Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management where the connection with Italy is mentioned and the dish includes Parmesan cheese. In the early 19th century, macaroni soup was one of the most common dishes in Italian inns. The soup was discussed as a food to improve the health of poor miners. Weeds can be used in macaroni soup in times of poverty to provide vitamins and minerals. Due to its inexpensive nature, it is often part of the menu in institutions such as schools, hospitals and prisons.

Ingredients

  • 3 quarts water
  • 5 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
  • 1-1/2 cups sliced celery
  • 2 large carrots, shredded
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 2-1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 cups whole milk
  • 1 pound Velveeta, cubed

Instructions

  • In a stockpot, bring water and bouillon to a boil. Add celery, carrots, onion and green pepper; cook for 4 minutes or until tender. Add macaroni. Cover and return to a boil; boil 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; let stand for 8-10 minutes or just until macaroni is tender.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter in a large saucepan. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in cheese until melted; add to undrained macaroni mixture.
