Mr. Chaperone is a tabby cat who stays at Big Man's Cat Houses. He got his name from following around the kittens of the feeder and taking care of them. Originally from the outside feeder, he now stays inside waiting for an adopter.
It is possible he used to visit a feeder named 栖美地 due to his daughter, Mrs. Houdini, having a cat profile on there.
Behavior
Mr. Chaperone likes to watch and follow around the kittens. He will affectionately clean them. When he is not following them, he takes the time to sleep. The kittens will come and cuddle with him at times. When he eats, his eyes will squint strangely and he can take a long time to chew something.
Sometimes Mr. Chaperone wants some alone time and gets angry with the other cats. He will grumpily meow and hide when he feels the need.
Appearance
Mr. Chaperone is a big (seemingly the biggest in the shelter) brown tabby cat. He has fluffy cheeks and a pink nose. He has stripes running along his back, which has shorter fur due to him being shaved. On July 24, 2024, he had a bright red scarf/collar around his neck. This changed to a red collar with a bell on August 31, 2024.

July 2024
- July 17, 2024: Mr. Chaperone ate some chicken snacks at the mini feeder.
- July 18, 2024: Mr. Chaperone looked very grumpy as a grey kitten (Ms. Pearl or Ball) joined him for a meal at the mini feeder.
- July 19, 2024:

- In the afternoon, Mr. Chaperone slept soundly in the tree bed.
- Sometime in the evening, Mr. Chaperone watched over Ms. Tutu and a grey kitten eat.
- July 21, 2024:
- At 3:10 AM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone was seen curled up in the tree bed watching 5 kittens play with a toy. His grandkitten, Ms. Companion, approached him. She affectionately rubbed against him while Mr. Chaperone licked her.
- At around 2 PM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone ate some dried rabbit blood from the mini feeder.
- July 22, 2024:
- In the afternoon, Mr. Chaperone attempted to climb the wall near the feeder. He made it quite far up before he fell. Afterward, he crossed the room calmly as though nothing had happened.
- In the evening, Mr. Chaperone slept on the cushions of the sofa while Ms. Companion slept above him. Across the sofa slept Ms. Tutu.
- July 23, 2024: At 8:48 AM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone curled up on the sofa while the grey kittens played around him.
- July 24, 2024:
- At 11:08 AM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone and Ms. Companion slept on the sofa together.
- Sometime in the afternoon, Mr. Chaperone walked across the room wearing a red scarf. He approached the mini feeder and stood there, staring ominously. Afterward, he climbed onto the shelves at the back of the room.
- At 6:49 PM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone watched Ms. Tutu eat from the mini feeder. After the kitten left, he walked away.
- At 8:01 PM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone enjoyed some chicken snacks at the mini feeder. At 8:15 PM, he was seen walking around the room with Ms. Companion following him. At 8:43 PM, he was lying on the floor while a grey kitten played close behind him.
- July 25, 2024: At 5:01 PM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone sat on the sofa with Ms. Companion. After cleaning, they curled up together and the kitten made biscuits on him. A grey kitten slept soundly close by. He slept there for many hours and would clean any kitten who crawled up beside him.
- July 26, 2024:
- At around 3 AM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone was eating at the mini feeder when Ms. Companion approached him. He seemed too grumpy to deal with the kittens, however, and he gently nipped at her ear. Ms. Companion left, confused.
- At 10:36 AM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone approached Ms. Companion at the Tiffany feeder. Ms. Companion held a grudge from earlier and hissed at him. Mr. Chaperone stood there for a second, then meowed grumpily and walked off.
August 2024
- August 20, 2024: At 10:41 AM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone was curled up on the sofa, close to Big Beautiful.
- August 22, 2024: At 6:35 PM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone slept on the sofa while one of the Caretaker's cats lay beside him.
- August 23, 2024: At 10:49 AM (LFT), a Caretaker attempted to give Mr. Chaperone medicine mixed in with food. He refused to eat it as it was brought to his mouth. At least 5 cats approached tried to eat his medicine while he attempted to walk away. The caretaker eventually cornered him and made him eat it.
- August 24, 2024: At 10:43 AM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone was brought back into the room in a crate after having a bath. Big Beautiful was in the crate with him. He hurried out once the crate opened and shook his fur.
- August 28, 2024: At 2:32 PM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone cuddled on the sofa with Ms. Companion.
- August 29, 2024: At 2:13 PM (LFT), Mr. Chaperone was sleeping on the sofa close to a grey kitten, Big Beautiful, and Ms. Tutu.
