Mr. Honey is an orange and white cat seen at Stray Cat Love Station. Mr. Honey is one of two orange cats at the feeder (Ugly Orange is the other). He can be told apart from Ugly Orange by the blotch of orange over his mouth, and by the white tuft of fur in the middle of his orange back. Mr. Honey's name comes from the fact that his orange fur is similar to the color of a jar of honey, and because the tip of his tail looks like a honey dipper. He was first sighted by the global community on August 9, 2024.
Behavior
Mr. Honey is an energetic cat. He enjoys running around and playing with cats like Mr. Dive, Ugly Orange, Mr. Boba, and Ms. Side Bangs. Like many others, he enjoys playing with the rainbow tunnel; in addition to going inside, he will sometimes lay on top of the tunnel, squishing it. He also likes to tease other cats, such as Squidward, in an attempt to get them to play.
At the feeder, he is a pretty dominant cat. He will swoop in and eat chicken snacks when they are dropped for other cats, such as Ugly Orange. Due to his massive size, he takes up much of the floor space in front of the feeder when he eats, so the cats he squeezes himself in with are left without much room. He is not malicious, however; he's just self-interested. He generally gets along with other cats and only puts up a little fight when cats like Mr. Dive try to eat with him.
Mr. Honey has shown to be a resourceful cat. Once, when there were no chicken snacks in the bowl, he saw one that was stuck underneath and attempted to dig it out. He persisted for several minutes, and almost got it out, when snacks were dropped for him and he ate those instead.
Appearance
Mr. Honey is an orange and white cat. The orange on his head extends down to the bottom of his eyes, and the rest of his face is white except for a large orange blotch over his mouth. His underside is mostly white with two large orange spots around his midsection. The back of his neck is mostly white, with an orange strip going down the middle; the rest of his back is fully orange, except for a large tuft of white fur in the center of his back. His tail is orange, with tabby stripes toward the tip that resemble a honey dipper when his tail is held straight.
Sightings
August 2024
- August 9, 2024: Around 3:00 AM (LFT), Mr. Honey was seen eating from the bowl while Tabitha sat behind him and watched. While eating, he had his face right in front of the camera; at one point, he gave the camera side eye.
- August 11, 2024: Around 7:30 AM (LFT), Mr. Honey entered the feeder while Ugly Orange was sitting inside and began eating. As a response to this, Ugly Orange left the feeder and played with the rainbow tunnel instead. A few minutes later, Ugly Orange returned to the feeder. When food started being dropped, Mr. Honey entered the feeder again and squeezed his head into the bowl while Ugly Orange was eating, causing Ugly Orange to take his head out of the bowl. Mr. Honey continued to eat from the bowl while Ugly Orange scooped out chicken snacks with his hands. After Mr. Honey was finished eating, he hopped up on the cat tower for a few minutes, then played in the rainbow tunnel with Mr. Dive and Mr. Boba.
- August 18, 2024: Around 7:00 AM (LFT), Mr. Honey was seen eating from the feeder while Ms. Side Bangs sat beside him. When Mr. Honey looked outside the feeder, Ms. Side Bangs tried to eat from the bowl; Mr. Honey then swatted at her, and she swatted him back, sending him out of the feeder.
- August 25, 2024: At 9:56 AM (LFT), Mr. Honey was seen attempting to dig out a chicken snack that was stuck underneath the bowl. Mr. Dive soon joined him, and they both stuck their arms underneath the bowl, trying to reach the chicken snack, to no avail. A couple of minutes later, chicken snacks were dropped, and Mr. Honey stopped digging to eat the snacks in the bowl.
- August 27, 2024: Around 12:20 AM (LFT), Mr. Honey was seen exiting the rainbow tunnel and attempting to play-fight with Squidward, who was laying on the ground, relaxing. Squidward just laid there and did not entertain him. Mr. Honey ended up laying on the ground, gently pawing at Squidward’s face while Squidward ignored him. When Mr. Boba emerged from the rainbow tunnel, Mr. Honey went back to playing with the other cats. A few minutes later, Mr. Honey walked up to Squidward, who was still relaxing on the ground, and attempted to play-fight with him one more time; this time, Squidward swatted him away.
- August 28, 2024: At 10:45 AM (LFT), Mr. Honey was seen eating from the feeder while Ms. Side Bangs laid behind him. A minute later, Mr. Dive entered and attempted to eat from the bowl; Mr. Honey nipped at his ear in response. When Mr. Dive was unphased by the biting and started eating, Mr. Honey left the feeder.
