Mr. Ranzatsu is a curious fella who visits the Abandoned Angel feeder. He's named after the Japanese word for "messy", as he looks like a white cat that got brown paint poured over it's back and dripped down his face.
Behavior
Mr. Ranzatsu is a cat who aims to please, and never understands when his attempts to do so aren't working. He will tinker with the feeder trying to get more food to drop, not noticing another cat trying to use the feeder is about to smack him out of frustration. He will try to jailbreak the other cars out, while they're trying to murder him through the bars. He does have a good relationship with Ms. Weed, who is his partner (in some way, they have a very socially awkward dynamic), and with Ms. Goofy. There three of them can often be seen spreading silliness strategically with each other at the feeder.
However, is this perhaps all a facade?? Is he actually a genius?? He has been shown numerous times using his paws to grab specific items like a person would, which no other cats at the feeder do. This behavior has led him to easily be the most efficient eater at the feeder. He also loves trying to figure out the human placed things at the feeder, even if his attempts aren't the most logical...
Appearance
Mr. Ranzatsu has a white and brown coat with distinct patches of color, with dark stripes on those patches. His face is predominantly white with a brown patch above his right eye, extending to the ear and head. His left ear is a mix of white and brown. He has a significant amount of brown on his back, with white underbelly and legs. He has a raccoon patterned tail. His left ear is TNR marked. He has a goofy looking lanky bodybuild.
Sightings
May 2024
- May 09, 2024: Around 7:00 AM (LFT) Mr. Ranzatsu was spotted for the first time at the feeder. He ate a little and some silly sniffy of the feeder.
- May 10, 2024: Shortly before 1:00 PM (LFT) Mr. Ranzatsu was seen again at the feeder eating for a couple minutes before leaving.
- May 11, 2024: At 6:41 AM (LFT) Mr. Ranzatsu dropped by the feeder for a few minutes. He grabbed a bite to eat but his weird nature was noted when he spent a minute holding one paw up as he looked at the air incredulously.
- May 22, 2024: At 9:55 AM (LFT) Mr. Ranzatsu came to the feeder, which had been turned into a TNR setup that day. Locked within the TNR jail at the time was Ms. Isthmus. Ranzatsu being the curious people pleaser he is, valiantly got to work trying to break Ms. Isthmus out of jail. Ms. Isthmus did NOT appreciate his presence and spent the time trying to get away from Mr. Ranzatsu or trying to murder him and his bloodline through the bars. Mr. Ranzatsu, somehow, was very oblivious to this hostility.
- May 23, 2024: At 4:00 PM (LFT) Mr. Ranzatsu came to the feeder to eat. At the time there was a variety filled feast awaiting him. After taking a few big bites, Mr. Ranzatsu was displeased with the new mixture of foods. He spent the rest of his meal using his han--I mean paw, to dissect the meal.
