Dame Knight is a cat that appears at A Litter of Cats Who Love Each Other. She was named as such, because of the sword pattern on her back. At first the community thought she is a tomcat, she was given the title Sir Knight, which was later corrected and given the title Dame Knight.
Behavior
Dame Knight is assertive. When the feeder was empty, rather than sitting back and waiting for food to be dispensed, she kept looking into the feeder to see when food would come out. When food is dropped for her, she eats immediately, and can eat lots at once.
Dame Knight has two kittens, an orange and white cat and a brown tabby. They are more energetic than the Boblets, and are very curious about their surroundings. They show many behaviors that Dame Knight has shown, like smacking the dispenser to knock out any stuck food. The tabby has been seen sliding itself into a crack by the back outside the corner of the feeder, but it always gets itself out with ease. They regularly show up alone, together, and with their mother. They have been seen to be cautious around the Boblets, but not aggressive, so the Knightlings and the Boblets may just not hang out with each other a lot.
As a mother, Dame Knight is shown to be protective of them. She will sit and watch outside the feeder while her kittens are eating. When food is dropped and she starts eating, she always lets her babies squeeze into the feeder with her if they show up.
Appearance
Dame Knight is an orange cat with lighter orange markings and a white chin. Her most notable feature is the sword pattern that runs down the length of her back. She also has a couple of smaller stripes on her one side, and a large stripe that looks like a boomerang. she appears to be an average size.
Sightings
April 2024
- April 13, 2024: Dame Knight's first known sighting. She appeared right after Bob left. She was very hungry and kept staring at the food dispenser, waiting for food to come out. She even hit the dispenser once in an attempt to make food come out. Once food was dispensed for her, she ate it all quickly, then went back to staring into the food dispenser and waiting for more food to come out. After a minute or so of waiting, she gave up and left the feeder.
- April 16, 2024: Dame Knight appeared in the feeder and ate some snacks. Lots of food was dispensed for her, which she enjoyed greatly.
- April 23, 2024: At 02:38 PM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen laying partially outside of the feeder, relaxing in the sun. She left at 02:41 PM (LFT).
- April 29, 2024: At around 07:33 AM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen lounging by the feeder. Some food was dispensed for her, and around the same time, another cat showed up to the feeder. The other cat pushed its way into the feeder with Dame Knight. She pushed the other cat out of her way, but when the other cat continued to eat, Dame Knight gave up and left.

- June 18, 2024: At 09:10 AM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen enjoying some kibble. There was a significant amount of kibble on top of her head, which didn't fall off until she left a couple of minutes later.
- June 19, 2024:
- At 10:41 AM (LFT), Dame Knight ate from the feeder, then looked outside and quickly left. Soon after, an unnamed cat who regularly visits the feeder entered and started eating. It is unknown whether the presence of the unnamed cat was the reason that Dame Knight left the feeder.
- At 01:29 PM (LFT), Dame Knight returned to the feeder, this time wet from the rain. She ate some food, then tried to rest; however, she had a hard time keeping her eyes closed. She rested her head on the side of the feeder for a few seconds, then lots of food was dispensed for her, which she quickly got to inhaling. After several minutes of eating, she heard something outside and left.
- June 23, 2024:
- At 05:30 AM (LFT), Dame Knight visited the feeder, this time with 3 kittens indicating that she is a mother. Sir Knight is officially renamed Dame Knight from this moment on.
July 2024
- July 10, 2024: At 11:34 AM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen eating at the feeder. Her fur looked a little disheveled, but she didn't look under the weather in any way. Hopefully she's just too busy being a loving mama to her babies to keep herself looking perfectly neat.
- July 11, 2024: At 6:47 PM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen sitting by the empty feeder. Three minutes later, at 6:50, a tabby kitten entered the feeder with Dame Knight. Upon closer inspection, it was confirmed that this kitten was Dame Knight's, and not Bob's similar-looking tabby. The kitten was very energetic and showed a lot of behaviors that Dame Knight has shown, such as constantly smacking the dispenser to try and make food come out. The kitten also squeezed itself in and out of a crack outside the back corner of the feeder, and meowed almost constantly until food was dispensed for it. Dame Knight sat in the feeder, watching her baby as it ran around. When food was dispensed, they both immediately started eating. At around 7:15 PM, Dame Knight left the feeder, and the kitten was able to have the food all to itself. Two minutes later, when the kitten was done eating, it left the feeder as well.
- July 12, 2024: At 6:19 AM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen sitting at the feeder, this time by herself. Lots of kibble and chicken snacks were soon dispensed for her, and she ate some, but then quickly left for an unknown reason.
- July 14, 2024: At 2:05 AM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen eating from the feeder while her tabby baby sat behind her. Soon after, Dame Knight's orange and white kitten joined the party. The orange and white kitten ate from the feeder, but as soon as it got out of the bowl, kibble came out of the dispenser, which scared it away for a little while. Dame Knight and her other kitten hung out, occasionally snacking, until her other kitten returned. More food was dispensed, but as both kittens were sitting along the back of the feeder, behind their mother, they were not scared away. After their mother ate for a minute, the orange and white kitten headed up to eat some more. The family then left, one by one; the tabby kitten was the last to leave at 2:29.
- July 15, 2024: At 10:01 PM (LFT), Dame Knight and her tabby kitten were seen at the feeder. Dame Knight was eating kibble, and her tabby stuck its head in the bowl toward the inside wall of the feeder. Dame Knight soon stopped eating and watched outside; her tabby continued eating. Soon after, Dame Knight's orange and white kitten showed up, and the two kittens ate kibble together. The tabby left at 10:06, and the orange and white kitten left at 10:08.
- July 17, 2024: At 11:09 PM (LFT), Dame Knight and her orange and white kitten were seen at the feeder. Dame Knight watched outside while her kitten ate some kibble.
- July 19, 2024: At 11:50 AM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen eating from the feeder while her orange and white kitten sat next to her. A minute later, Dame Knight got up and sat outside the feeder, and her kitten started eating. When her kitten was finished, it went outside and sat next to her in the dirt. Soon, some kibble was dispensed, and Dame Knight's other kitten, the tabby, ran into the feeder to eat. The tabby left when it was finished eating.
- July 22, 2024: Around 6:30 PM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen sitting at the feeder. She was watching something outside, which was revealed to be George, who was laying outside some distance from the feeder. A few minutes later, Dame Knight darted out of the feeder, and George chased her. What happened after this is unknown.
- July 23, 2024: At 7:27 AM (LFT), Dame Knight was seen sitting at the feeder, waiting for food. A minute later, kibble was dropped for her a few times, and she began to eat. When she was finished, she laid back down, looking outside again. At 7:37, George showed up and laid down outside, close to the feeder. They hung out together until Dame Knight left at 7:42. This friendly encounter they had together possibly indicates that the George chasing Dame Knight incident from the day before wasn't all that serious.
(Not every cat sighting is documented.)
