Justin is a kitten at A Litter of Cats Who Love Each Other. She is one of Maurice's two kittens (her brother is Theo). Her mother was named after Byzantine Emperor Maurice; Justin is named after the Emperor Maurice's son of the same name. Justin is notable for being the first and only black cat to ever visit the feeder. Justin was first sighted along with her brother on December 15, 2024.
Behavior
Justin is very independent. Since the first time she visited, she frequently ventures out on her own while her mother and brother stay in the feeder. She has also shown up to the feeder on her own quite a few times, and was able to hold her own against a young Calico cat. Her assertiveness can also be seen when food is dropped; she usually eats before her brother, who sometimes shies away when she jumps in. Despite her independent nature, she is not against joining her family for nap time, and does enjoy snuggling with her mother and brother while they all sleep. So far, she readily eats both snacks and kibble.
Appearance
Justin is a solid black cat. She's not quite as large as her brother, but she still is nice and chubby. She has big, round eyes, just like the rest of her family.
Sightings
December 2024
- December 15, 2024: Around 3:15 PM (LFT), Justin was spotted for the first time. She sat next to her brother, Theo; both were sat behind their mother. At one point, Justin ate crumbs out of the empty bowl, then left on her own to explore.
- December 18, 2024: At 1:08PM (LFT), Justin appeared from behind the feeder and walked past the feeder into the distance.
- December 23, 2024: At 12:07 PM (LFT), Justin was seen sitting inside the bowl, eating kibble. When more kibble was dropped, she stayed inside the bowl, but she looked up at the dispenser with a ridiculous, shocked expression. When Justin was finished eating, she left the feeder on her own.
- December 27, 2024: At 7:17 AM (LFT), Justin was seen standing in the bowl, eating kibble, while her mother laid along the back of the feeder. When her mother got up to eat, she sat down next to her. Justin left on her own at 7:27.
- December 29, 2024: At 6:31 AM (LFT), Justin was seen eating alongside Theo while their mother laid behind them. Justin soon crawled into the bowl. After a few minutes, she crawled back out and left on her own.
- December 30, 2024: At 8:24 AM (LFT), Justin was seen sleeping against her mother while her brother ate. When Theo was done eating, she sat down in front of the feeder for a minute, then moved back over to her mother and rested her head on her back. A while later, her mother and brother left, and she hung out in the feeder for a few more minutes before leaving as well.
January 2025
- January 4, 2025: At 12:33 PM (LFT), Justin was seen sleeping alone in the feeder. Her mother soon entered and the two stared into the back camera before laying down.
- January 12, 2025: At 12:29 PM (LFT), Justin was seen eating while the silver tabby kitten explored outside. After a few minutes, Justin looked at the kitten with suspicion, slowly moved toward the exit then ran away from the feeder.
- January 21, 2025: At 5:06 AM (LFT), Justin was seen eating alongside her brother. She was covered in quite a bit of chicken snack dust.
- January 26, 2025: At 7:53 PM (LFT), Justin was seen resting her head on her brother's back. When food was dropped, Justin ate first, then sat down toward the back while Theo ate. She left the feeder for a minute while he ate, then came back in. The kittens' mother soon joined them, and the three relaxed while sitting up, huddled together. During this time, Justin stared for a long time at the top camera. At one point, Justin got up to eat for a minute, then rejoined the cuddle pile.
- January 30, 2025: At 12:12 PM (LFT), Justin was seen hanging out outside the feeder while the rest of her family was inside. Justin soon entered the feeder and ate alongside her mother. After she finished eating, she left by herself.
February 2025
- February 8, 2025: Around 11:00 AM (LFT), Justin was seen alone at the feeder, eating from a decent-sized pile of chicken snacks.
